A person’s fitness and the way they feel through proper exercise and healthy habits is the key to living their best life. We only have one engine our body and it is not something you can trade in after years of abuse with poor exercise and eating habits. I have always loved fitness from an early age leading the local Ascot State School sports team in athletics and AFL while also playing football at the local rugby club Brothers for 7 years. At 24 my love for fitness ignited having met one of the best local personal trainers Marc Ford who coached me for 4 years in strength, conditioning, nutrition and also to my first boxing bout win alongside local boxing coach Slavco. What I love most is running as a means to switch off and build the body’s cardio coupled with weight strength and conditioning training. After spending time over in America and noticing Orangetheory Fitness, the heart rate monitored concept which is displayed in real time and gives a person an indication of their training levels of effort really resonated with me as interval training is what I was coached on and enjoyed most when it came to training. In my eyes Orangetheory is the complete package, the perfect mix of cardio with the interval treadmill running blocks and the strength and conditioning component seen on the weights floor and low impact WaterRowers. It is the complete workout and ticks all the box’s for me when training low impact, improving cardio and building lean muscle and core and is what makes my important muscle ‘my heart’ thrive for MORE LIFE and MORE ENERGY!
Fitness has been part of my life from an early age. My passion for and interest in fitness stemmed from my training for cross country and track and field where I competed at a National level in Ireland. It continued through my teens and into my later years and I graduated from the University of Limerick in Ireland with an honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science. Working with top Sports Physiotherapist and a National Swim Team sparked my interest in Injury Management.
I left my small town in Ireland to travel and seek adventure in the land of Oz in 2006 and never looked back. I have since worked in Injury Management, Personal Training and managed and coached at a local F45 Studio for some years before coming on board at Orangetheory Fitness Ascot. Orangetheory offers a training style like no other and a community that is inclusive and supportive.
I am a mum to two little treasures Sofia & Ralph who motivate me everyday to be the best version of myself. I live and breathe fitness and enjoy an active life and leading by example but what I love most about working in the Fitness Industry is meeting so many amazing people and being part of their journey’s towards being fitter healthier and happier. Seeing others achieve ‘more life’ and being part of that is a rewarding feeling.
Having surrounded myself with sport through adolescence it was only natural I would pursue a career in helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. I was involved in Judo and swimming but was always most passionate about soccer – until I hyperextended my knee (TWICE) and was advised by a physiotherapist to begin weightlifting to build muscle at 17. Since then my love of weights grew into a hunger for competitive power-lifting and the proper nutrition necessary for performance. Through all my training I love dealing with data to measure and track my progress, which is why Orangetheory’s live feedback and heart rate monitoring system is my favourite as it keeps you accountable and guarantees success!
I came across Orangetheory Ascot earlier this year and I fell in love instantly. After hanging up my togs after 8 years of competitive swimming, I struggled to find exercise that excited me again. I was bouncing between gyms until a friend recommended OTF and I have never looked back.
The atmosphere caught my attention first. Everyone, no matter how tough the template, worked together to get it done! Not to mention, the workout itself which is challenging but very rewarding!
I absolutely love fitness and people which is why 10 weeks after my first session I began working at the front desk. The past couple of months here at Orange have been fabulous. The dedication of the team and the transformation members have made in such a short time is so exciting and some of the reasons I can’t wait to come to work each day! Here at OTF Ascot, we are one big family. We aren’t just here for the SPLAT points; you’ll be surprised with the friendships you create along the way!
Before I started with Orangetheory Fitness I worked for over a decade in the field of engineering and construction, but when I relocated to Sydney 18 months ago I decided it was time for a career change. Having also worked previously in makeup and beauty, I have always enjoyed helping people feel good about themselves. With a renewed focus on living an active and healthy lifestyle I wanted to work somewhere that incorporated my previous experience and resonated with my own personal goals, so I jumped at the chance to join the team at the Balmain studio. I don’t come from a fitness background and have always struggled to find a workout routine that I enjoy and keeps me motivated. Being a part of the OTF family has completely changed my perspective on exercise, and the staff and members continue to inspire me to become the fittest and strongest version of myself. The community atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, and the staff genuinely care about the members and the experience they receive. I am so excited to now be a part of the Ascot studio, and continue to introduce members of the wider community to Orangetheory Fitness!
Hailing from Adelaide SA, I have called Brisbane home for the past 10 years.
While I was very active throughout my childhood in professional athletics, netball and ballet, my coaching journey only started 5 years ago.
If I’m not at Orangetheory Fitness Ascot you will find me at Lagree which is a specialised form of pilates from LA. I guess you could say I’m addicted to any form of exercise that is from the USA.
In 2017 we welcomed our first daughter Norah into the world and in early 2018 I was honoured to be named a QLD ambassador for Lululemon Athletica.
I absolutely love running ALL OUTS and any form of core exercise down on the floor. I strive to bring lots of laughter and fun to my classes and cannot wait to see where the OT journey takes us all!
I have been involved in fitness for as long as I can remember.
Competitive swimmer surf lifesaving before changing to Triathlon in my early teens.
Competed as a Professional triathlete and surf lifesaver for 15 years.
Travelled the world competing and represented Australia 4 times with medals in 3 of those 4 World Championships.
After the world of sport I became a mum!
I completed Diploma of Fitness in 2016 and luckily found OTF out of my studies.
I absolutely love OTF. The training, science is second to none!
I love to train at OTF, Surf, Run and Mountain Bike for fitness.
I’m still involved in Triathlon via online coaching and still keep those competitive fires burning by competing in triathlons here and there.
I have nine years’ experience in the food industry, runners up on My Kitchen Rules, to opening and piloting the first start-up shipping container restaurant concept in Brisbane. Along with owning and managing a shipping container restaurant, my main focus over the past years has been Brisbane’s ever going fitness and food scene.
I’ve always had a passion for fitness and food, as they go hand in hand. I’ve completed my BFA in dance performance at QUT; as a trained ballet and contemporary dancer it brings a strict focus to my fitness training, and my dancing background draws out the performer in me. Orange Theory is scientifically proved to deliver more life and I loved everything the company stands by, but it also allows me to bring my performance background out and entertain each member while they workout!
I’ve always loved fitness and was begging my parents to join a gym as soon as I turned 16 so I could do aerobics (inspired by a love of lounge room workouts to Aerobics Oz Style!). My passion for sport and fitness motivated me to study PE at Uni.
I was hooked on Orangetheory from the first workout and from there grew my interest in becoming a coach.
Outside of Orangetheory I’m also a school teacher. I love taking on new challenges and some of my achievements to date include Half Ironman and Olympic distance triathlons, a marathon, obstacle course races, Pan Pacific Masters Games and CrossFit competitions.
When science meets fitness
Orangetheory Fitness is a one-of-a-kind science-based group training workout. Using heart-rate monitors and the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), members work to stay in a target zone.
